Leading construction and civil engineering specialist, BAM Nuttall, has implemented the FleetHR software solution from Mycompanyfleet to help cut costs, automate and streamline its processes, including online P11D reporting, and integrate back office systems across its 1,000-strong vehicle fleet.

BAM Nuttall has been involved in a number of iconic building projects in the past, including constructing the famous Liver Building in Liverpool and the Mersey, Medway and Dartford Tunnels. Currently, the company is involved in several projects including the Luton to Dunstable Guided Busway, Crossrail and Tottenham Court Road Tube station.

The company decided to replace its assortment of disparate fleet systems with FleetHR from Mycompanyfleet, the automotive division of global HR solutions provider NorthgateArinso, to ensure a smoother transition of data between back office systems and to make certain that employee and vehicle information was co-ordinated and completely accurate.

FleetHR will act as platform for all employee and vehicle information and, by taking in data directly from BAM Nuttall’s personnel system, the need for re-keying employee records will be removed, this saving time and expense.

The integrated system will then use this data to create the P11D for each employee, detailing their vehicle records and other key information, and allow BAM Nuttall to file these on-line  directly to the HMRC’s website.

Behind the scenes, FleetHR will be utilised to provide accurate forecasting of the timing for servicing and maintenance for all vehicles on the fleet. When a service is due, it will be highlighted on the system’s dashboard for the attention of the fleet manager, but at the same time the driver will also receive an automatic e-mail warning of the impending service.

This automated process will completely replace the manual reminder system that the company previously had in place.

FleetHR will also integrate seamlessly with suppliers’ systems, including  downloading data from the  Arval fuel and service cards that the company uses, which then automatically updates both fuel and maintenance  records.

The FleetHR system also provides a high level of analysis of the SMR transactions through the system’s exception dashboards, to highlight any areas of overspend or other anomalies.

“We selected FleetHR to update our fleet systems and to automate and streamline our processes, including P11D reporting and service forecasting,” said BAM Nuttall IT director, Rob Youster.

“The dashboard based system allows us to highlights any areas that we should be investigating, such as cost over-runs, as well as integrating extremely well with services from other suppliers, in areas such as fuel and SMR,” he said.

Mycompanyfleet business executive Luke Hicks said: “By deploying FleetHR in this way, we are helping BAM Nuttall to automate and streamline its fleet processes and to help drive efficiencies across the whole fleet.”
